What we do with your email address
The front page asks for an email address and promises four things about it. This page is the detail behind that promise. There is only one form on the site and this covers all of it.
What is collected
One email address, typed into the first look form by you. No name, no postal address, no payment details, no date of birth, nothing inferred about you from anywhere else.
The form carries one hidden field that a person never sees and never fills in. A submission that fills it is treated as spam and dropped. It exists to keep automated signups out of the list and it collects nothing about you.
What it is used for
Field notes from the valley: an occasional letter about the workings, the localities, the seasons, and what is coming out of the ground. The first look at the first pieces goes to the same list. Your address is used for those letters and for nothing else.
Who else has it
Nobody buys it, rents it, borrows it or receives it as part of a list. We do not sell addresses and we do not trade them.
Two companies necessarily hold it as part of getting a letter to you. Netlify hosts this site and receives the form when you submit it. Our email provider holds the mailbox at hello@braldustone.com. This page names every company that holds your address, and it is updated before a new one ever does.
No analytics and no tracking
This site runs no analytics, no advertising trackers and no third party embeds. It loads nothing from any other domain, and it runs no JavaScript at all. The content security policy the site is served under blocks script execution outright, so a tracker cannot be slipped in without that policy being changed first.
How to be removed
Every letter carries a way to unsubscribe. You can also email hello@braldustone.com and say remove me, with no reason required and no questions asked in return. Removal means the address is deleted rather than flagged.
How long it is kept
Until you ask for it to be removed, or until the letters stop for good, whichever comes first.
Changes to this page
If any of this changes, this page changes before the change takes effect rather than after it.
